    I am a wedding and portrait photographer located in beautiful Victoria, B.C. I am available for sessions in the Greater Victoria area and southern Vancouver Island. I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography and have studied photography for over 15 years.

Teresa and James Abigail’s Hotel Wedding

Teresa and James met  two Christmases ago. Last Christmas, James proposed. So it was fitting that they celebrate their wedding day this Christmas. They had a small, intimate wedding at the Abigail’s Hotel just before the holiday, which looked spectacular dressed for Christmas.A few friends and James’ sister and her family were in attendance, with his mom watching the proceedings via Skype from Edmonton.

The day started at Shades of White, where I met Teresa as she put on her dress. She looked fantastic in the dress that suited her perfectly.  It was so fun to hear all the congratulations and see the happy looks of all the customers as we left the store.

We made our way to Abigail’s just before the ceremony. One last check before the wedding. You looked so beautiful, Teresa.

Their expressions say it all. The ceremony was full of love and laughter. I nearly cried as they said their own vows.
For pictures we went to Parkside Spa and Resort. The forecast called for rain, so we went there for a sheltered venue, just in case. However, we were blessed with a clear day with gorgeous light. We made the most of both inside and outside.
Just as the sun was setting, we went back to Abigail’s for pictures with the Christmas lights. Then they invited me to stay for dinner catered by the hotel. They are so sweet! And I am grateful they did. It was amazing. What a fun day.

Thank you Teresa and James for being so incredible, and for inviting me to be part of your day. The day was as wonderful as you are. All the best to you and your new family.

Favourite Wedding Pictures of 2011

I love being a wedding photographer, and I was blessed to be part of many amazing weddings this year. I love the emotion, the energy, the details. I get to go places I never would have gone otherwise, like the Admiral’s residence at CFB Esquimalt, the penthouse at Bear Mountain or St. Michael’s University. Most importantly, I work with amazing people. (Yes, I used ‘amazing’ twice, but it works for me.) While the framework of most weddings is the same, each couple brings their own personality and perspective to their wedding, making each experience unique. It is an honour to be invited to be with couples on such an important day. Here are a few of my favourite wedding photos of 2011.

This year has been my best yet; 2011 brought many fun, unique people and experiences into my life. And next year is shaping up to be even better. Happy New Year, everyone.
