This week marked the end of my 365 project, a picture a day for a year. I was invited to join the project by my friend Arlee in Alberta, who started a 365 with a couple of her friends the week before. They were all posting their work on Facebook and ‘friended’ me so that…

This past week I had the opportunity to attend my first ever photography conference, Image Quest, held in Richmond, BC. When I first heard back in January who was going to speak, I knew I had to be there, whatever it took. Thankfully my husband agreed and was an enthusiastic supporter. I was excited to…

Well that is news that I really liked reading. I wish someday I could hit up a conference and enjoy listening to the stories of success and be one of those standing and speaking. I’m happy for your awesome blog too D.
Yeah! So excited you have a blog. Sounds like the conference was awesome. So true that the only thing we bring to the table that is unique is ourselves. I’ll have to remember that when I’m feeling like my work stinks and I’m trying to copy other people too much.

A Look at Langford – Week 23, 50 Projects « Through My Lens - [...] The images of Goldstream Park and the Langford Lake boardwalk were taken last year as part of my 365 project, but the light was so perfect those days I felt they were worth sharing here. Langford Lake [...]
cindystephenson - Hi,
So glad I stumbled on your blog, and very intrigued about your 365 Project. Are you familiar with Daily Shoot
(http://dailyshoot.com/). They tweet out a photo assignment each day via twitter, and you can view what everybody posts on that topic. I’ve done a few of the assignments, but then get busy, or don’t know what to take, so have great appreciation for your commitment.
I live in Victoria, BC and recently completed an introductory photography course by Mitch Stringer at Camosun. Loved it and would like to go further. His advice right now to us is get out and practice. A 365 project might be one way of doing it.
Anyway, thanks again and I plan to come back and visit your blog and read some of your other posts.

The ’50 Projects’ Project « Through My Lens - [...] and discovered a lot about herself in the process. Having recently completed my own photography Project 365 (a photo a day for a year), I could relate to many of her feelings of happiness and frustration, [...]
deannamcc - All of you have been amazing support and inspiration. Even though we have never met, I feel that we could go for lunch and chat like old friends.
McMom - I love this. I so know what you mean about seeing photographs in your head . . . that you see the world as a photograph. And looking at things from different points of view. And rear curtain sync . . . yeah, that’s hard. I need to work on that too, and also taking my camera everywhere. You took some amazing photos this year!
Kallie - Dee,
I have really enjoyed all of your 365 photos. I would log on and wonder what everyone had taken a picture of that day. It was inspiring, and it has helped me develop a better eye by doing this and getting the comments and critiques. Thank you for letting me sneak-a-peek into your creative mind.

photographybyrothecker - I soooooooooo enjoyed reading that and that put smiles on all over the country – I’m sure of that. I’m one of your facebook fan’s who has endured the troubled days with no motivation to do it too …. hahaha!!! And then there were days for me when I was excited to post this but sometimes disappointed it didn’t garner the comments I wanted – but that worked for me too! You see it showed me what was appealing and it made me work that harder to make something that more appealing. But there were days I was like who cares – it’s anyone’s interpetation of beauty – so I really didn’t care if I got comments or not … 365 really opened my eyes to the real beauty and not limited to a staged photo … it’s all of the combination. Meeting Dee on here was great and yes we have never met … but that’s part of life where snapshots are the only link to someone else’s world. Thank you Dee for sharing this with me and the others.
