Emily and Chris have been friends since high school. On their first date when she turned 16, he took her to McDonald’s. He proceeded to set the table with a table cloth, candles and dishes. While they were given a few odd looks that day, she said it was one of her most memorable dates. They stayed good friends for a long time. Chris knew 4 years ago that they would one day be married, but she wasn’t interested in him that way. He waited patiently for her, even moving to Lethbridge where she was attending the university. His patience paid off, and they were sealed for time and all eternity in August in the Vancouver LDS Temple.
We met the day before their wedding at her parents’ home where Emily got ready, and they did their first look.
We then went to Mount Doug Park for pictures. Emily had her sister, Sylvia, and two of her best friends with her. Chris asked both of his brothers, and his closest friend to attend with him. After the park, Emily and Chris planned for a family dinner at The Fireside Grill. We had a few extra minutes before the reception for more photos. The next day, after a quick trip to the mainland to be sealed, Emily and Chris had a calling reception at her parents’ home. The backyard was full of family and friends, yummy appetizers and a very popular chocolate fountain. Their 3 labradors also attended, not to be left out of the family fun. They had even set up a dance floor in the garden under a tent, with fairy lights around the yard. For their grand exit, sparklers were lit to see them on their way.
It was a beautiful 2 days, and I am grateful to have been part of it.
